Promoting Inclusive Schools

Starting in 2020, this is a 3-year capacity-building project to build national capacity in citizenship and inclusive education in view of increasing the quality of education. This project is completed.

One of the main outcomes will be to increase competences of teachers, school leaders and NGOs to create an inclusive learning environment in schools in all regions of Slovakia. Schools with a high number of Roma pupils will participate in the project. It is part of the EEA Grants programme area “Local Development, Poverty Reduction and Roma Inclusion”. EWC is project partner and cooperates with the National Institute of Pedagogy under the Ministry of Education.

Key activities will include building a network of trainers through ongoing training and support, trainings for school leaders and teachers on innovative approaches and methods, as well as piloting the whole-school model promoting inclusive policies and practices in schools and their communities throughout the country.
