EWC, Council of Europe and the Zurich University of Teacher Education are currently discussing how to strengthening their partnership in order to be more effective in supporting the implementation of the Reference Framework of Competences for Democratic Culture in member states.
The three institutions have over several years worked together to promote education for democratic citizenship and human rights, but now meet on a more regular basis both face-to-face and online to identify possible synergies and new possibilities of collaboration.
One of the areas which is of particular interest is the implementation of the Council of Europe Framework of Competences for Democratic Culture (RFCDC) now that the conceptual phase is largely completed. In order to bring the framework into practice, however, there is a need for capacity building of educational professionals. More details will follow.
