Last year, we celebrated EWC trainer Natalia Kidalova as she won the title of Ukraine’s best teacher in the Global Teacher Prize Ukraine 2019. This year we are happy to see more familiar faces among the top-50 finalists.
We congratulate Ella Danilina from Selydiv secondary school, Svitlana Merkulova from Irpin secondary school No2, Oksana Slovik from Lutsk lyceum No 27, and Lesia Yurchyshyn – participant at the EWC’s 6th Summer Academy “Democracy at School” in 2015 who all made it to the top-50.
It is now down to the top-10 and Schools for Democracy alumni Vasyl Diakiv is still in the running. Mr.Diakiv teaches history, civic education, and health at the Zalishchyky gymnasium in Ternopil. The school first participated at the 5th Summer Academy “Democracy at School” in 2014, before taking part in the Schools for Democracy programme.
We cheer him on and look forward to October 3 when the winner of the Global Teacher Prize Ukraine 2020 will be announced.
