Schools For All participates in EEA Grants event for the #WorldRefugeeDay in Greece

Challenges and good practices during the pandemic CΟVID-19 regarding refugee matters

On June 22, 2021, Schools For All project participated in the first joint event in collaboration with projects funded by Local Development – Poverty Reduction & Asylum and Migration / EEA Grants, honoring the World Refugee Day. The event was organized by the fund operator for the “Local Development and Poverty Reduction” programme in Greece, SOL Consulting S.A, in partnership with Human Rights 360. The discussion was structured in different panels and was moderated by the journalist Ioanna Fotiadi.

“Schools for All” team was invited to lead the discussion regarding “The role of schooling and access to education for refugee children during COVID-19”. The project coordinator of Schools For All, Dora Katsamori, presented the project to the audience and shared her professional outview regarding the challenges and successes of the project during the pandemic. Her comprehensive presentation was followed by the contribution of Eythymios Bogdabeidis, School Director of the 2nd Gymnasium of Alexandreia. In his capacity, Mr. Bogdabeidis shared how the school coped with the challenges and met its needs regarding integration, as part of Schools For All network.

Schools For All was proud to participate in this event, among the significant NGOs: Arsis, Association for the Social Support of Youth,  International Rescue Committee Hellas, Médecins du Monde Greece, METAdrasi, Society for the Care of Minors, SolidarityNow and NORCAP/ NRC.
