Τhe OECD International Conference was entitled “Promoting a holistic approach to the integration of refugee and newcomer students: Effective policies and practices”.
Three schools of the Schools For All network were presented by Claudia Koehler, Executive Director of Farafina Institute , as good practices of holistic refugee education during the OECD International Conference on the 7th & 8th of October 2021, in Paris. The Conference was entitled “Promoting a holistic approach to the integration of refugee and newcomer students: Effective policies and practices”.
The comparative research by Claudia Koehler, Nektaria Palaiologou and Ottavia Brussino entitled ”Mapping, scaling up and institutionalising effective practices for the integration of refugee students” presents cases of good practices regarding the holistic approach to refugee inclusion in Germany, Netherlands and Greece. Referring to Greece, she included three of the schools of our network – 1st Gymnasium of Avlona, 1st Gymnasium of Neapolis/Thessaloniki and Evening Gymnasium of Kilkis – in her presentation on practices of holistic refugee integration and Mapping, scaling up and institutionalising effective practices for the integration of refugee students.
We are always happy to see field work in direct dialogue with research and proud of the schools’ work!
