Karoline Steen Nylander is project officer for the programme "22 July and Democratic Citizenship". She is responsible for non-formal democracy education in the project “democracy workshops at Utøya”. Nylander has extensive experience from youth organizations and human rights education in non-formal settings.
She worked as a project manager in Save the Children Youth Norway from 2017-2020 with responsibility for political and organizational development of child and youth participation. Nylander has also been a board member of the Norwegian Youth Council (LNU) who gathers all national democratic youth organizations under the same umbrella. She was the head of Save the Children Youth 2015-2017 and managed the participatory processes in Norway’s report to UN on the Convention on the Rights of the Child in 2015-2018.
